Sexual, Masturbation and Porn Addiction Help Forum

Hello,

I am new at this; however, I have made a commitment to work through my problem of internet pornography. I have been struggling with both internet pornography and masturbation for two years. My wife knows and has supported me in my efforts. However, I am stuck in this cycle and want to break out of it. I'm so exhausted with this struggle that I want to give up because it is easier, but something is telling me not to give up. Does anyone have advice for me? I'm ready to quit the battle and just give in. I want to use this blog to log my journey in this area of my life.

Hey, I know how you feel. Recently after going for many weeks without porn, I gave into my addiction big time. I was very discouraged, and somehow when I read your post it encouraged me that there are other married men struggling with this. I know it's tough but for our sake, for our wives, for our children and (if you are religious) for God, we need to keep up this fight. You are not alone, and I would encourage you to not give up. I have had some great victories since coming to this forum, but I have messed up, too. All I can say is trying to come to terms with this addiction has humbled me in a way that nothing has done previously. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your encouragement. Also, I am glad to hear about your victory of many weeks over porn. A few months ago I had an accountability partner, but he was not very helpful and left the faith (Yes, I believe in God). I really need a place where I can be honest with my thoughts and feelings about this struggle, and think this may be the place to explore them. Your encouragement has given me more confidence that I can overcome this area in my life. I am exploring why I use internet porn. It’s my hope this will provide significant introspection that will provide insight to help my journey toward freedom. Would you like to join me in exploring this question?
