Huppim,
I'm really glad that you're weaning yourself this stuff.
The mind is the battleground where we either give way to temptation by our ego-driven thoughts or not. It's a question of how we keep the ego under control particularly if we've had any kind of emotional issues to contend with - such as stress, anger, frustration. etc. The ego just wants a payoff and couldn't care less about the consequences.
Something else inside us however, subtly makes us aware that to give way to such tempations is not a good idea.
We all want to win this battle. We all can win it if we realise that we are on the losing side if we indilge the ego; that giving way will never satisfy and that any emotional issues we have can be dealt with in a different way.
I for one don't want to suffer [self] life imprisonment and its consequences by allowing such egocentric thoughts to control my actions. I prefer freedom for many reasons.
Keep up the good fight - we can win this war but it needs a fair dose of ccurage and faith in purpose.
